QUINTE WEST, Feb. 5, 2025 – The City of Quinte West is looking for an operator to help manage and run the Front Street Farmers’ Market for the next four years.
The City’s successful local farmers’ market provides space to approximately 40 seasonal vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods, and handcrafted artisan items at the market pavilion at 67 Front St. in downtown Trenton. The market is a registered member of the Farmers’ Markets Ontario association and also features a selection of live music and family-friendly activities, creating a welcoming and engaging experience for residents and visitors.
The Front Street Farmers’ Market has been operating annually for decades and is a registered member of the Farmers’ Markets Ontario association. The market runs every Saturday between 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. from the Victoria Day weekend in May to Thanksgiving weekend in October, and welcomes approximately 500 patrons each season.
The farmers’ market operator will be responsible for providing oversight and management of the Front Street Farmers’ Market’s day-to-day administration and operation, including vendor registration and coordination, entertainment programming, and onsite coordination and presence during market days.
“The Front Street Farmers’ Market is a treasured local experience and cornerstone of Quinte West’s community calendar each season,” says Elizabeth Edwards, Economic Development Officer. “This is a unique opportunity for a community member who is interested in supporting and growing the local market economy.
